The under-construction foundation work is always hidden by the finished decking. Therefore it is of utmost importance that the base is engineered to last.We specialise in the formation of the base which is approx' 70 % of the whole project.
Pressure treated 6"x 2" or 4"x 2" timbers are used to create a solid base using galvanised heavy duty angle brackets and coach bolts which are dipped in grease before assembly.
Before the decking is laid the sub-frame is checked and double checked for absolute rigidity!! If the sub-frame does not move then it certainly won't move once the decking is fastened . Please note the entire decking area is not fastened to any exterior walls and is completely stand alone.

All our projects are made with over 2000 fixings for a typical 5 meter by 4 meter deck with a cross sectioned frame using 6 x 2's
Everything is secured with screws, heavy duty angle brackets and coach bolts. The base is structured with 4"x 4" tanalised treated posts inserted in concrete ensuring that the timber base frame will be above ground level for air circulation.
Landscape fabric (membrane) covered with shingle for weed control and drainage.
